After France I headed over to Geneva, Switzerland--the peacemaking capital of the world! There is also the largest fountain in the world. The Jet d´Eau. However, I didn´t get to see the jet because it was somehow off during my entire stay.

Geneva was very nice and fancy, a little too fancy for me. Now I understand why people put their money in Swiss banks, everyone is rich in Switzerland!

Unfortunately, this isn´t good for student life. I couldn´t find a meal for less than 10 Euro, even at the grocery store ramen noodles and juice ended up costing 10 Euro! Also, people in Switzerland are so fancy that they do not even use duct tape. I needed duct tape really bad to tape up my suitcase (as it has fallen apart, duct tape is the only thing that holds is together).

I did get to go up Mt. Saleve and see the top of the Swiss Alps. I had to ride a very small and rickety cable car up the mountain and feared for my life, but it was well worth it for that view! It was so gorgeous. Switzerland can be fancy if it likes as long as those mountains stay there.

Christmas in Paris

Christmas Eve:
Went to the Louvre. The Mona Lisa crowd was very intense. Tried to see Venus, but the woman closed the hall just as we tried to enter.

In the evening we couldn't find any food because everything was closed. So we went to a grocery store and ate some crackers and juice and watched French TV in the hotel room.

Christmas:
Went to church at the Cathedral of the Notre Dame. Not as big as I had expected.

Then went up the top of the Eiffel Tower. French people act so funny in the cold! Nothing is cold compared to Russia now.

Went to a McDonald's for wi-fi to call our families. Was a little creepy and dirty.
